From Manchester to the world. And from there, to the collective imagination of several generations. This portrait of Ian Curtis, the leader of the British band Joy Division, is part of the Fan series that the artist Javier Jubera has created to commemorate his idols. "It's an excuse to talk about enthusiasm," says the artist. And he gets it portraying one of those great musicians in rock history. Curtis was a lover of Kafka, of modernist poetry and of Lou Reed, he suffered from agoraphobia and became a legend with his cut-throat voice and his distinctive histrionic movements on the stage. To remind him, it would be nice to hear the song 'Transmission', hang his portrait by Jubera at home, and let yourself dance until dawn.
