She is considered one of the most internationally renowned plastic artists in Mexico, her country of origin. Lourdes Villagómez is the great representation of the contemporary enlightened positivism. She has been ranked number 2 in the last ranking made by the art platform Collective Culture about the 50 most important emerging artists in Latin America. Now she arrives at Gunter Gallery with her first series of prints signed and numbered by her, an allegory based on the old Sioux Indian legend, 'Tied Love'.

The universe of Villagómez is united to the aesthetic values ​​of her country, to the culture and to the Mexican tradition, she bets for the color and the symbols among which she grew, from the catrinas of the Day of the Deadths to the overwhelming nature and the Aztec folklore. "Mexico is a country full of color that definitely influences my palette. Many times I go to the mexican markets to see combinations of colors that I use in my work," she has come to say.

Near to the geometric pop art, she always uses acrylic in her works, many of them realized in murals, following the natural stream of the great format own by the Mexican artists. She has received different awards and recognitions such as the Design Award for Channel 11 and has exhibited in Italy, USA and Mexico.

Graduated in graphic design from the Ibero-American University of Mexico City, she later majored in art, completing her studies in photography and fine arts at Cats College, Cambridge, UK, and has a master's degree in visual arts at the Academia Riaci in Florence (Italy).
